New Delhi: Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is too busy to respond to a congratulatory message on being awarded Padma Shree from none other than Amitabh Bachchan, complains the Bollywood icon. Bachchan said he twice sent greetings to Dhoni but the Indian skipper “must have been busy” with the IPL to find time to respond to his SMS.
“Knowing his closeness to Dhoni, I complain to John (Abraham) about Mahi not responding to the message of greeting I had sent him on his decoration of the Padma Shree,” he wrote on his blog on ‘Bigadda.Com’.
“He (Abraham) says he shall connect me immediately right away. I stop him. Ask him to look up at the TV - Chennai is playing Royal Rajasthan and Dhoni is very much on the field - IN SOUTH AFRICA!!” he said.
Dhoni and off-spinner Harbhajan Singh have been honoured with Padma Shree this year but the duo missed the award ceremony and invited the wrath of Sports Minister M S Gill among many others.
